Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Supervision

I am eligible to provide supervision toward LPC in the state of Michigan. The focus of my supervision is experiential in nature and can focus on the supervisees interest. My primary areas of specialty include: play therapy, animal assisted play therapy, sandtray, cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma therapy, and expressive therapies. Each supervision session is tailored to the individual supervisee. Supervision can be offered in an individual or group format.

Registered Play Therapist (RPT) Supervision

Supervision services are available for clinicians across the United States who are interested in obtaining the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. To learn more about the requirements to become a RPT, visit the Association for Play Therapy. I will work with you to identify a specialized training and supervision plan. This can be through an individual or group format in person or on zoom.

RPT Supervision

Work one-on-one and in a group setting either virtual or in-person with Dr. Mary Rottier to learn skills to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Requirements for RPT Supervision include:

  • The current policy requires 35 hours of supervision to be obtained from an RPT-STM, with a maximum of 10 hours of group supervision permitted. Effective immediately, APT will accept up to 15 hours of group supervision, with the remaining 20 hours required to be individual supervision.

  • Play Therapy Instruction, Supervised Play Therapy Experience, and Play Therapy Supervision requirements must be accrued within a time period of no less than two (2) years and no more than ten (10) years. All credentialing requirements must have been obtained with the ten (10) years immediately preceding the date on which your application is received by APT.

  • Each phase requires the completion and documentation of a minimum number of hours in play therapy instruction, clinical experience, and supervision prior to progressing to the next phase.
